Most Supreme Summer Zine Scene at Multnomah County Libraries

July 09, 2009: Hey all you would-be zinesters! So you wanna make a zine, but haven't figured out how or are just overwhelmed? Get down and dirty at Cut, Copy, Collate--A Zine Construction Workshop offered up by the North Portland Multnomah County Library on July 14th.
And don't miss out on making zines and comics with others at Shuffleupagus--A Collaborative Zine Experience taking place at Central Library (U.S. Bank Room) on July 21st.

Cut, Copy, Collate -- A Zine Construction Workshop

July 14 5:30-7:30 p.m.

North Portland Library, 512 N Killingsworth St. Learn the practical aspects of self-publishing your zine -- just in time for the Portland Zine Symposium.

Skylaar Amann (Action Bookbinding) shows you tips and tricks for layout and design, paste-up and copying, and various simple binding techniques.

Shuffleupagus -- A Collaborative Zine Experience

July 21 6-7:30 p.m.

Central Library, U.S. Bank Room, 801 S.W. 10th Ave.

Think you can draw? Think you can write? Shuffleupagus doesn't care if you're an expert, an amateur or a hack! Join Jesse Reklaw ("Bluefuzz") and Androo Robinson ("Cryptozoa") and hang out with other creative types and make some mini-comics together. Participants will contribute words and art toward the creation of several zines with a variety of themes. Finished zines will be debuted at the library's table at the Portland Zine Symposium.
